The 18 Studio

At the beginning of 2024, A stylist sent me a message if I wanted to shoot for her portfolio at The 18 Studio. Which is a daylight studio in Dronten, the Netherlands. It was a small 4-hour shoot, including building lights, shooting and taking everything down. So let me take you with us on the shoot.

Something I wanted to do for a while, Is sharing my work from previous shoots. As I really like to keep my portfolio up to date, some images got taken down on our website. So to keep them in memory, I really enjoy sharing them here with their story.

The Concept

As I have been approached by the stylist, I didn’t need to do a lot for this shoot other than show up. Danique, the stylist for this shoot, had the concept for a more feminine “boss” vibe. As that is not totally my vibe, we discussed how we can let this shoot work for both of us. She added some more elegant pieces to the styling she brought, and we made sure that the posing wasn’t too bossy. So we went for the elegant but business vibe.

The 18 Studio

The 18 Studio is a studio based in Dronten. It’s a small studio which is designed with mostly beige, taupe & brown colours.
Something that really suites my style. As the shoot was coming closer and closer, the weather forecast didn’t seem in our favour. But luckily, Danique had booked the studio for the morning. As of the morning, there is the biggest chance that the sun is coming around. The morning of our shoot while driving to the location everything was super grey, so we thought we would have the luck of the sun peeking through the grey clouds. But when I set up my flashes to create fake sunlight, the sun did come through the grey clouds, and we could shoot with sunshine! After we raped up after the shoot, the clouds we’re back to grey, and it started to rain. So we were super lucky with the sun!
